Proposed in 1996 by Hiroaki Kitano to stimulate research, RoboCup was born with the crazy and very complex challenge that at the Football World Cup in 2050, robots would be able to play on the field with humans.

Recently, the RoboCup took place in Germany (2016), Japan (2017), Montreal (2018), Sydney (2019) and Bangkok (2022). The 26th edition will take place from July 4 to 10, 2023, in France, at the Bordeaux Exhibition Center (Parc des Expositions).

The objective of the RoboCup is to promote interest, practice and knowledge of related sciences: mechatronics, computer science, electronics, mechanics, Internet of Things and artificial intelligence.
